Nabila Wirakusumah

Nabila is a multidisciplinary artist and designer currently based in New York. Born in Indonesia, raised in Thailand and Hong Kong, and educated in New York and Denmark, Nabila's multi-faceted background is echoed in the variety of her creative pursuits. Her art ranges from watercolor and oil paintings to generative art through coding, and her design experience has taken her from web graphics to creative direction in the NY hip hop scene to set design in the fashion industry. She is a frequent collaborator of Studio Hansraj and a member of Navy Studios in Brooklyn. 

Nabila's work has been featured in Spicy Zine, World News, Bellus Magazine, Bush Zine, BRIC, DRØME, Colors of Humanity Gallery, Further Magazine, Dark Phrases (Sarah Lawrence College), Visual Arts Review (Sarah Lawrence College), and The Phoenix (Sarah Lawrence College).

She is the recipient of the Design Excellence Award in Graphic Design from the Danish Institute for Study Abroad.

Child of Paradise is a celebration of the complex and nuanced identities of South East Asian femmes. The brand draws its imagery from a diverse range of inspiration - primarily Javanese heritage, streetwear culture and the Japanese Superflat movement. The updated storefront and product range is coming end of March 2019.
